The Different Types of a Buggy That You Can Find for Sale

Strollers and prams are some of the most vital products that you will need if you have a newborn baby. It will be hard to move around and get about your day without one. Sure you can buy slings and other products to help carry them around, but these other options will all place a large amount of pressure on your arms or back. Strollers are the only item out there that will take the pressure off you as all you have to do is push them. Although they can be difficult to navigate in certain situations such as busy streets and beaches, your back is sure to thank you!

When you’re out browsing for a new stroller it is easy to feel overwhelmed. With different types, styles, designs and price points you may not even know where to start looking! Whilst it’s nice to know that you won’t fall short on choices, sometimes less is more and this is definitely the choice in this instance. But just how many types of strollers are out there and how will you know which one is right for you?

Well, below we take a look at strollers at three different price points. We discuss what they are and what features they have in the hope that you will be able to inform your final purchase decision.

Budget strollers

If you’re on a budget but you’re worried about the high price points that some strollers can end up costing you, don’t worry. Although they aren’t advertised far and wide, there are affordable options out there.

Though they don’t come with all the glitz and glam as other strollers do, it doesn’t make them any less effective. On a basic level, a stroller is a cushioned, secure child seat on wheels. Anything else is an added bonus, but not a necessity.

A difference between a basic stroller and a more expensive one is that it may come with titanium handle bars or extra plush cushioning. Whilst these are nice to have it adds to the cost. So whilst you will have plastic handles and less cushioning on the inside, like a car, as long as it gets you from point A to point B, you’re good to go. The only reason we would recommend going up a buggy level is if you first have the money to do so and secondly, will be using the stroller more than an average person would be.

Mid-range strollers

Sitting in the mid-ground in the stroller market, these buggies are bought the most often. Parents are usually happy to pay that bix extra for this product as they know that they will get a lot of use out of it. Due to this, their money will go a long way and they’ll be able to get the best of both worlds.

They’re better than economic types as some will come with specialist equipment on the inside, such as the ability to swaddle your baby. Modern research has shown that babies like being wrapped up tightly as it makes them feel safer and can relieve any anxiety they have. So by having this, you will be able to make your baby more comfortable if need be. But they don’t come with designer logos on them which as you will see below, comes with a high price tag.

Designer buggies

Nowadays, certain buggies can be both a luxury and an essential product to have. This is because more luxurious versions of these items are coming out into the childcare market. Whilst the most affordable buggies cost around £15, you can find some at around the £1,000 price mark and above! Designers have even jumped on this bandwagon and brought out their own lines of buggies too, including Fendi whose pram costs a staggering £9,350.

But some parents are worried that purchasing this sort of stroller will make them look like over-indulgent parents. Our advice is that if you have the money to afford such a luxury and you are happy to spend this much, then go for it. Think of it this way, you can always keep the pram as an heirloom and give it to your adult child when they start a family of their own.
